Plot Summary: Ban Mido and Ginji Amano are a recovery duo infamously known as “GetBackers.” Ban possesses two special powers: the “Snake Bite” (his hands have a gripping power of 200kg) and the “Evil Eye” (anyone who looks into his eyes will be locked into a powerful and nightmarish hallucination). Ginji, on the other hand, has the ability to generate thousands of volts of electricity from his body. Together, they run a freelance business of recovering anything lost or stolen from a client – and they claim a 100% success rate at their job. This show also has a manga you may wanna check out
Ban Mido

The first impression one usually gets of Ban would be that he is a rude person with a great sense of pride. With his unruly hair (He’s often called “Urchin Head”) and sunglasses, people immediately judge him poorly (It doesn’t help that he gives unflattering nicknames to almost anyone he meets, e.g. “monkey trainer” Shido Fuyuki and “thread spool” Kazuki Fuuchouin). Despite this, he is actually a great guy with a strong sense of leadership and a very talented person. He is one quarter German and the grandchild of the “Last Witch of the 20th Century”.
Genji Amano

He’s the current partner of Ban Mido and was once the fearsome “Lightning Emperor” and the leader of a gang called “The Volts” in the Infinity Fortress. He received the title “Raitei” (literally, “Lightning Emperor”) because of his ability to control electricity. This control grants him several unique abilities such as amazing regenerative power as well as the ability to become a human magnet and battery.
Kazuki Fuuchouin

Kazuki is the scion of the noble Fuuchouin family, and his fighting abilities derive from the family school, which emphasizes grace (?). He is graceful and charming, and is often mistaken for a woman because of his long hair and feminine face. But when angered, his fury is such that his notorious other title is “Prince of Fear”.
Kazuki uses white koto strings (in the manga’s English translation, they were described as harp strings) in battle; the strings also have other uses such as listening in on distant conversations. The Fuuchouin String Arts is regarded as one of the most versatile fighting techniques in the Infinity Fortress as it comprises attack and defense using the same weapon.
Kuroudou Akabane

Kuroudou “Dr. Jackal” Akabane works as a “Transporter” (“hakobiya” in Japanese), a person paid to escort things to a certain location. With his formal attire, consisting of a dress shirt, black tie, fedora hat and suit coat, polite manners and ever-present smile, he could be mistaken for a harmless person.
Akabane’s primary weapons are 108 razor-sharp surgical scalpels which he can hurl with deadly accuracy. Although the GetBackers initially believed that he simply concealed the weapons beneath his flowing clothes, when Ginji incinerated them in their first battle it became apparent that Akabane actually conceals the scalpels within his own body. The scalpels appear to be an extension of Akabane – although he rarely chooses to manipulate their movement once thrown normally, he has displayed the ability to summon them back into his body from a distance.
strong>Himiko Kudo

Himiko is a feisty girl who hates to be reminded of her age or treated like a child. She and Hevn (Heaven in the anime) have the occasional fights (usually about their bust sizes and intelligence). Though mature for her age, Himiko’s abilities usually mean that she often needs assistance during the more dangerous jobs. But, she has done her fair share of helping, especially in the Divine Design arc, where she managed to help Ban escape during his first encounter with Lucifer.
As a witch of poisons, Himiko is trained in the use of various perfumes which have a wide range of effects from causing sleep, to burning internal organs, to causing a person to revert to a more primal state, etc… Himiko and her brother Yamato had developed around 200 poison concoctions but they only carried seven with them at any one time.
Shido Fuyuki

is first introduced as the Beastmaster, he has the ability to control animals, although it should be better stated that he asks them for favors, as he views animals as his friends[6]. Previously one of the VOLTS Four Kings, after they disbanded, Shido left the Infinity Fortress to make a living outside, like Ginji Amano, the leader of VOLTS and whom Shido respects as a friend. After reconciling with Ginji (whom he felt had betrayed Volts by leaving the Infinity Fortress) during the “Get Back the Sound of Life!” arc, Shido took a cue from the Get Backers and started his own retrieval service — occasionally aided by Emishi. He is generally very independent and cold to others. Even though his powers allow him to control animals, he considers them friends, and tries to protect them as they do him. He eventually ends up living with Madoka Otowa, and he has an ongoing rivalry with Ban Mido.
